This weekend the Sports Management department had the 19th Annual Sports Management Conference! I'm not usually the nervous type, but for some reason I could not feel more out of place. I just kept thinking to myself, what if I sound stupid, what if my work isn't as good as hers. Then I told myself, "Kali, this is what you want to do, this is why you are here. You know how to talk to people, you love doing it." I went up to the first table that caught my eye, he was our first speaker Kevin Carr from Pro2Ceo and he did a phenomenal job. He put life back into perspective for me that we don't always know what the best path to take in life, but we have to be willing to choose one, and accept all that it gives you. As soon as we got to talking, I felt more comfortable, loosened up my shoulders a little and spoke with confidence about what I wanted to accomplish at school and through my current internship. Although, I don't feel as "put together" like some of my fellow sports management professionals, I know that I can't compare what they are doing or where they are at. What I have to focus on are my goals and what its going to take to reach them. My objective for this coming week is to sit down and right down my goals and how I will conquer them.
