On No, Not Jimbo

The facts are all there, today could be the day that FSU's Head Coach Jimbo Fischer cries his last War Chant with our Noles. Rumors around campus, podcasts about his life, and arguments about the loyalty of the organization have all been thrown in the mix about Jimbo leaving us for Texas A&M.

I feel as though we can't be angry with Fisher, only upset that we will be losing such an aspiring, energetic, and heartfelt coach whom we have won 5 bowl games and 2 Orange Bowl Titles. That of which seem not even applicable in this years season. That being said, Jimbo has a life of his own and must make decisions based on not only himself, but his family as well. With young children, he must weigh the options in Texas compared to staying in Tallahassee. What Jimbo demands of the Boosters program at FSU, does not seem to be the answer that he wants regarding facilities. Not too mention, the new and improved salary Jimbo would be receiving at Texas. I believe Jimbo has created his own legacy at Florida State and has developed his players into the best he can. I think it's his time to see how beneficial he can be somewhere else, with a lacking football department and jumbled coaching staff. A part of what being a head coach is about is being able to transform a team and coaching staff into champions. Why wouldn't Jimbo want that challenge at this point in his career. So instead of hating on Jimbo and resenting him for leaving our Nolenation, wish him the best of luck and continue to represent our Garnet & Gold pride with whomever our next head coach may be.
